Competition Scams Police Close In
After lengthy investigations, the Police are starting to close in on
some 2000 scam artists based in the United Kingdom. These repugnant
individuals and firms, send e-mail to the vulnerable, claiming that
they have won a competition or a distant relative has died, leaving
money. Do not respond to such e-mail. Contact your family Solicitor, if
you believe the matter could be genuine. Ignore competitions
completely. Store copies of any competitions you enter safely in a box,
or record in a book, so you can refer to them. If you have been conned,
please contact the Police they would like to hear from you. www.iwf.org.uk

Breaking News - Email Scam
Alerts
I have just received a new e-mail scam this morning from an
organization calling itself 'Domain Submission Center'. It looks all
very formal and in the layout of an invoice titled 'Notification
Department' with reference to your registered domain name or names.
Please do not get taken in, you do not have to respond, or update your
existing domain name records. If you receive this e-mail, you need to
copy it and send it, to your domain registration provider. They are
well within their legal right to report the fraudulent matter to the
Police and seek legal recourse against the individuals responsible for
this deceit. 2008-06-03
