thoughts and ideas about the World Wide Webs past and how we see the
future of the net.

A
bit of background, as I care
At the beginning of the 1990's, I was introduced to the Internet by an
Australian friend working at Microsoft and then others, from the United
States working at Netscape Communications. At the time, I was already
heavily associated with the blue chip industry, as a Consultant in
Marketing and Communications. I became computer literate by the very
early 1980's and had published magazines and a book by the late 1980's.
Whilst being a consultant for Business Venture Capital, I also owned a
successful mail order business that was exporting to the five
continents of the World, so I was already an accomplished global
village trader.
Therefore, when the World Wide Web started it's journey, the
Information highway!
I joined at the very beginning. Grasping the technology with open arms,
realizing from the outset, it's mass potential for giving business, for
the first time and of any size an electronic publishing medium.
So while working with John Wilkinson of IBM (former General Manager
Europe), on a business venture project. I joined Netscape
Communications Development Partners program and later Microsoft's
equivalent that I am still a member of today.
I began customizing what is known in the industry as regional bundles.
In effect, UK editions of Netscape Navigator and Communicator Suites,
for home and business user in the United Kingdom.
They truly were, great exciting, early hazy day's. Where the community
consisted of Students, Academics, Home enthusiasts and Business
visionaries.
A grumpy old man at 50
So as you can see from a brief background, I've earned my strips over
the years in this industry and had the privilege to work with and be
employed by the best. After leaving Satellite and Cable Europe in 2000,
as Marketing and Communications Director.
I founded Riverside Networks
as an Internet Service provider, Internet Portal Broadcaster and
Publisher, Plus business Network solutions service for state of the art
frameworks in hard and software.
As I mentioned above, today the face of the Internet has drastically
changed, I
care not for the fraud, taking advantage of the vulnerable in our
society, superficial social networking services or news
and media hype web sites.
As a result of the climate and environment, these recent changes, are
now affecting the structure of the
community. A good example of such negative changes, is the recent
demise of the Netscape Portal and Browser
Program. Industry founders need to show their colours and decide on
where they want to go.
They have two choices, one total chaos and meltdown. Or the other,
accountability and responsibility, regarding the content and services
they provide.
So what's coming and why
I am pinning my colours to the mast, to ensure from the establishing of
Riverside Networks Computer Sciences Academy last year for an online
foundation, that we deliver class leading services that are accurate
and in a class of their own.
For News, featured articles, reference, who's who legitimate home and
business web sites, found in our directory services.
Plus in the shopping guide, where you will find only the World's
leading brands and
household names, for a safer online shopping experience.
Eventually we plan to bring back 'Live Online', our old on demand web
radio magazine. Originally created by my publishing and design house,
Pineapple Blue Media Studio's back in the early 1990's with new weekly
and monthly feeds, covering the News from around the World Wide web.
We look
forward to unveiling the new services and features at the earliest
opportunity. Creating a time honoured environment with integrity, for
all the family.
I would like you to contribute, with your life stories,
hobbies and interests. For other like minded family based members of
the web community to enjoy.
Articles can be submitted successfully, by using our new
'Netsay'
members
publishing program.
All the services will remain free, as part of a community public
service. For
the
social advancement of humankind, through information technology and
communications. Thank you!
Safe Surfing and Good Luck!
